Community Service Award

Alarm Detection Systems recently won the coveted First Alert Excellence in Community Service Award in recognition of the great number of ADS employees who volunteer hours for a wide variety of community services.

When conducting a survey, we were pleasantly surprised to find that nearly 60% of ADS' 200-plus employees regularly volunteer time to various organizations.

Our volunteers hold executive and leadership positions in park district boards, sports leagues, library boards, Rotary Clubs, parade committees, and Neighborhood Watch.

We also have dozens of employees taking hands-on positions in sports, community, and religious organizations. Some of the activities include blood banks, phone calls for fund raisers, scouting troops, coaching sporting teams, outreach services through religious organizations, Habitat for Humanity, Avon Walk for a Cure, Special Olympics, Neighborhood Watch, after school programs, visiting shut-ins and nursing homes.

Though every volunteer event is different, the basic bottom-line of all events is that volunteers, those from ADS as well as all the others, are there to make a difference, to make their part of the world a better place to be. That's something we all can take pride in.
