Outstanding Citizen Award to ADS
Jan 27, 2009 -
On May 25, 2008, a brutal murder was committed in an apartment complex on 121st Place in Chicago. The victim of the crime was murdered in the hallway of the complex by his former girlfriend. The hallway was under video surveillance and a VHS tape was retrieved as evidence.
Due to the fact that it was a proprietary surveillance system, the investigating detectives were unable to view the images. The detectives subsequently contacted Alarm Detection Systems.
Alarm Detection Systems' John Spooner, Vice President, was instrumental in retrieving this video and providing a copy that was then viewed by a Cook County States Attorney. The video played a significant role in the offender being charged with first degree murder.
John was recognized at the annual Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police Awards Program. The plaque received was inscribed: Citizen Award
