Job Summary:

The Data Analyst will work to transform data into actionable insights and bridge the gap between IT and business. The Data Analyst will combine analytical and technology skill sets to develop data and solve problems in a variety of fields, including finance, sales, marketing, service, human resources, customer service and alarm monitoring.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and translate business requirements from a variety of users
  • Automate test frameworks by users to ensure that user intent is effectively captured and tested
  • Develop business cases/stories for prioritization
  • Develop and analyze business performance reports
  • Extract, consolidate, and map data obtained from various systems and sources
  • Translate technical information into a non-technical representation
  • Coordinate and deliver demos of system changes under development
  • Provide detailed project status reports
  • Provide explanations and interpretation of reports and data to management
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, business analysis or similar field is required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data retrieval, data analytics and/or business analysis is required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience interpreting results of quantitative analyses and creating recommendations that link modelling results to business issues
  • Understanding of business and IT processes
  • Understanding of database structure and sql queries
  • Understanding of SQL Server OLAP cubes
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to understand document data flow, systems and interdepartmental processes
  • The passion and drive to expand your skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Microsoft Business Central, Jet Reports and PowerBI experience a plus

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Clear and valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card from the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
