This is a field service position. The Camera technician is responsible for the installation, modification, repair and customer training duties at various customer locations within the ADS service area. The technician is expected to work independently and perform all work up to ADS’ quality standards.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of CCTV Surveillance Systems, Access Control Systems, Intercoms, and associated software and components for these systems
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of Burglar and Fire Alarm systems as needed
  • Responsible to develop a complete understanding of proper techniques for installing, maintaining and testing residential and commercial systems
  • Responsible for written detailed reports on all tasks performed on each individual account
  • Responsible for night call on a rotating schedule. Rotation schedule will vary based on number of techs in the department in the rotation at any given time
  • Responsible to read and follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the ADS Employee Handbook
  • Responsible to instruct the customer in the proper use of their system
  • Responsible to read and follow the ADS installation and service manuals

 
Skills

  • Knowledge of basic electronics
  • Knowledge of computer networking, routing, switching & LAN topologies
  • Electronic troubleshooting using Digital and analog Volt/Ohm/Amp meter
  • Ability to work independently
  • Detail oriented with ability to maintain accurate recordsQuality conscious Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Self-motivated

 
Education and/or Experience

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 2 years minimum experience with electronic troubleshooting
    • 2 years minimum experience with computer networking
    • Electronics &/or computer training highly preferred

 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must be able to obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card from the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
  • Clear and valid driver’s license
  • CompTIA Network+ (or equivalent) certification is a plus

A Camera/Access Technician is required to perform tasks indoors and outdoors during the entire year. The technician should be dressed appropriately to enable them to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
