The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) recently updated the Standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems. NFPA 25 now requires that glycerin and propylene glycol antifreeze solutions currently used in installed fire sprinkler systems be replaced with a listed antifreeze solution by September 30, 2022.
Until very recently, there was no listed antifreeze solution available to use. However, now that a listed product is available, Alarm Detection Systems (ADS) would like to inform you that you have an antifreeze system that will need to be drained and refilled with the new solution. Only a licensed sprinkler contractor can provide this service. If you would like a quote, please contact us at 630.844.6300
One Vendor for All Your Fire Sprinkler System Maintenance and Testing
First, Alarm Detection Systems follows the NFPA 25, Standard for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems. The primary drain test should be conducted annually at each sprinkler system riser to determine the condition of the water supply, supply piping, and control valves has not changed. This test should be conducted quarterly, where the sole source of the water supply is through a backflow preventer or pressure-reducing valve.
Second, our technicians are highly qualified to do the work. Third, all ADS employees undergo a rigorous background check. As a result, they have the training and experience to evaluate your fire system and complete reviews in the most efficient manner possible. Lastly, we perform the work on a schedule that is convenient for you. Our goal is to have the slightest interruption to your business.
